The 104th International Day of Cooperatives (IDC) will be celebrated globally on Saturday, 4th July 2026 under the theme:

“Cooperatives for a Peaceful World”

The theme has been jointly announced by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and the United Nations Committee for the Promotion and Advancement of Cooperatives (COPAC). It highlights the unique role of cooperatives in fostering peace through economic inclusion, democratic participation, equality, social justice, environmental sustainability, and resilient communities.

The 2026 theme recognizes that cooperatives strengthen social cohesion by bringing people together around shared values of self-help, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity. Through member participation and community development, cooperatives contribute towards peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable societies while supporting the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
